• മീന്‍ കഷണങ്ങള്‍ – 2 കപ്പ്‌ (ചെറുവക മീന്‍ അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ചെറുതായി മുറിച്ച മാംസളമായ മീന്‍ )
• തേങ്ങ ചിരകിയത് – 2 കപ്പ്‌
• ഉണക്ക മുളക് – 8 എണ്ണം
• ചെറുതായി അരിഞ്ഞ ഇഞ്ചി – 1/2 ടേബിള്‍സ്പൂണ്‍
• ഉള്ളി അരിഞ്ഞത് – 1/2 കപ്പ്‌
• പച്ചമുളക്, വേപ്പില – 1/3 കപ്പ്‌ (നന്നായി അരിഞ്ഞത് / ചതച്ചത്)
• വെളുത്തുള്ളി – 6 എണ്ണം (നന്നായി അരിഞ്ഞത് / ചതച്ചത്)
• വാളന്‍പുളി – 2-3 എണ്ണം
• വെളിച്ചെണ്ണ – 1 ടേബിള്‍സ്പൂണ്‍
• ഉപ്പു – ആവശ്യത്തിനു

പാചകം ചെയുന്ന വിധം

ഉണക്കമുളക്, ഇഞ്ചി, ഉള്ളി, പച്ചമുളക്, ചിരവിയ തേങ്ങ എന്നിവ ഓരോന്നായി നന്നായി ചതച്ചെടുക്കുക
ചതച്ചതിനു ശേഷം ചേരുവകള്‍ എല്ലാം ഒരുമിച്ചു ചേര്‍ത്ത് ആവശ്യത്തിനു ഉപ്പുമിട്ട് വെക്കുക. ഇതിലേക്ക് ചേരുവകള്‍ കൃത്യമായി മൂടുന്ന തരത്തില്‍ വെള്ളം ചേര്‍ക്കുക.
വെള്ളം വറ്റുന്നതു വരെ വേവിക്കുക (ചെറു തീയില്‍) . അടിയില്‍ പിടിക്കാതിരിക്കാന്‍ ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ പാത്രം ചുറ്റിക്കുന്നത് നല്ലതാണു

From today onwards the people in Kerala can refil the cooking gas by sending sms to thier cooking gas provider. This facility in Kerala is inaugrated by the Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Jitin Prasada. A similar service was started in Delihi few days back and is being extended to all cities in India.

The numbers to be used for doing SMS are the following:

• Indian Oil Cooking gas customers : 54625 from (IDEA, TATA, AirTel and Vodafone)
• Bharat Petrolium : 52725 (from Vodafone, IDEA, TATA) 57333 from (Airtel and other telecom providers)
• Hindusthan Petrolium : 99909 23456 (all telecom services)

The customers should register thier mobile numbers with the delivery agents, who supplies the gas cylinders, at your house to avail this facility. you get immeadiate notification upon registration. Customers will also get the notifications upon booking.

The CPM led LDF Kerala government and the the KSEB has informed the CBI that there is no evidence available towards the allegations raised against the Ex.Minister G Karthikeyan in the Lavlin case.

This move might have put Pinarayi Vijayan in a puzzled situation as the CPM stand on this was a politically motivated case and that is the reason for excluding G.Karthikeyan from the case

WHO says 277,607 cases of H1N1, at least 3,205 deaths across the world.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said Friday that the number of cases of the pandemic flu H1N1 2009 has passes the figure of 277,607 with at least 3,205 deaths.

WHO said in its update that in the temperate region of the southern hemisphere (represented by countries such as Chile, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa), influenza activity continues to decrease or return to baseline.

Active transmission persists in tropical regions of the Americas and Asia. Many countries in Central America and the Caribbean continue to report declining activity for the second week in a row.  However, countries in the tropical region of South America (represented by countries such as Bolivia, Ecuador, and Venezuela) are reporting increasing levels of respiratory disease.

In the tropical regions of Asia, respiratory disease activity remains geographically regional or widespread but the trend is generally increasing as noted in India, Bangladesh, and Cambodia.

While in the temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere activity is variable. In the United States, regional increases in influenza activity are being reported, most notably in the south eastern states. Most of Europe is reporting low or moderate respiratory diseases activity, but parts of Eastern Europe are beginning to report increases in activity.

WHO said that the pandemic (H1N1) influenza virus continues to be the predominant circulating virus of influenza, both in the northern and southern hemisphere. All pandemic H1N1 2009 influenza viruses analysed to date have been antigenically and genetically similar to California/7/2009-like pandemic H1N1 2009 virus.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention this week reported on an analysis of 36 fatal pandemic influenza cases in children under the age of 18 years. Sixty-seven percent of the children had one or more high-risk medical conditions, most commonly neurodevelopmental disorders. In addition, 10 of 23 children for whom data were available were found to have strong evidence of secondary bacterial co-infections

This Jet Airways story makes it a lesson for the common man, again.It is nothing but, you suffer all the time.

Being a common man, I feel that I am always a victim of the strikes, price hikes, job cuts, salary cuts and what not…

Why cant the government take action against these pilots? Why are they supporting them or talk for them?

When I book a ticket to India, I prey three things.

1. I should get a ticket for the date and time I need ( weekends, which never happens). If I get a ticket to India on weekend from Kuwait, you have no chance for getting the ticket on a weekend from there back to kuwait
2. If I get the tickets, the flight shouldn’t get canceled. This happens mostly with Air India Express. Recently I have booked for a return ticket for my family from India to Kuwait on 28th September. One fine day, I got an email that the flight is canceled. Boom…. you find your own way, we are not flying that day…Man… dont you think that is crazy?
3. The crew is not on strike… Now pilots, we have seen this with not only Jet but also with Kuwait Airways… Air India is not an exception, but I am not yet a victim. Now after few days, another set of crew… may be air hostesses may go on strike. what do we do then? after that the turn would be of those who does the cleaning… goddddd… I don’t know how  will I book any ticket without worrying all this.

Heard that the Management is taking back the pilots. This will lead to more strikes by this union for getting their benefits (as they call it).

Fortkochi beach

Fort Kochi Beach also known as kochi beach is one of the finest beach in Kerala. It is located 12 Km far from kochi city in Kerala. The main attraction of fort kochi beach is the historic fort that is the best example of indo- european architecture. It is an obscure fishing village that became the first European township in India.

Chinese Fishing Nets

The Chinese fishing nets are one of the fascinating attractions of Kerala. Their beauty is attributed to their size, elegant construction and the way they work. The Chinese fishing nets are popularly known as Cheenavala in Kerala. The very name of these beautiful nets indicates that they are Chinese in origin. These were first introduced in Kochi, Kerala by the Chinese explorer Zheng He. Today these nets are mostly found on the beaches of Kochi and Vasco-da-Gama Square near the Fort Kochi. The places around Bastion Bungalow, Santa Cruz Basilica and VOC Gate are also dotted with the nets.

Chinese fishing nets are fixed land installations set up on bamboo or teak poles and are operated from the shores. Used for fishing, each net is at least 10 m in height and consists of a cantilever with an outstretched net suspended over the sea. For counterbalance large stones are suspended by rope at the other end. In order to operate each fishing net a team of at least six fishermen is required. The net is suspended in the mid air all along the coast. It is then left untouched for few minutes and then lifted gently by the team. Balance has to be maintained while raising the net.

Visit Kochi and see the fishermen using the Chinese fishing nets for catching fish in a unique way. Within few minutes they are able to catch a moderate amount of fish and crustaceans which you can buy for gratifying your taste buds. The best time to have a look at the Chinese fishing nets at Kochi is during sunset. That is the time when it looks perfect and picturesque. It seems as if a page from a fairy tale has been presented before you.

Dutch Palace, Mattancherry

The Mattancherry palace or Dutch palace is situated barely 10 km from Kochi. This grand and beautiful palace was built in 1555 by the Portuguese and presented to the King of Kochi, Shree Veera Kerala Varma. Later the kingdom was taken over by the Dutch. When the Dutch made some renovations in the palace, it was renamed as Dutch Palace in 1663. Today, the Dutch Palace is not merely a historical monument but a renowned portrait gallery of the Kings of Kochi and murals (paintings) revealing Hindu art.

There are beautiful paintings (frescoes) on the walls of the Coronation Hall on the second floor. These paintings are based on the scenes from the ancient epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata. Apart from this, an area of 1000 sq ft is devoted to paintings based on the themes of Tretayug, (from “Putra Kameshthi Yagya” to Rama’s return to Ayodhya after Lanka’s war). These are the best examples of Kerala’s mural paintings, which are world famous for their unique styles. Various articles used by the royal kings like turbans, dresses and palanquin lined with ivory are also exhibited in the palace.

The entrance to the palace is typically Portuguese in design. At some places, you can observe the traditional Kerala style of architecture known as ‘nalukettus’. In the palace, there is a small temple of ‘Pazhayannur Bhagavati’, the goddess of the Kochi Royal family. Two more temples are situated on either side of the Palace dedicated to Lord Krishna and Lord Siva.
